How long does a full external wrap take and what is the best time of year to do it?
External wrapping can take up to three weeks, weather depending. Rain will delay fitting time as each layer needs to dry completely before the next layer is applied. Summer is the perfect time to insulate your home, by taking advantage of longer dry spells to complete the installation faster. Your home will benefit from the added insulation in the summer months also by keeping you cooler, for longer.
Am I eligible for the SEAI external insulation wrap grant?
Your home must be built before 2011 to be eligible for the grant.
Note: Part L of building regulations require that after any alteration to a minimum of 25% of your home’s surface area, either achieves a minimum B2 BER or your heating system and attic insulation comply with building regulation standards
How much is the SEAI grant for external wall insulation?
Apartment = €3,000
Mid-Terrace = €3,500
Semi-detached (or end of terrace) = €6,000
Detached house = €8,000
